Brittany: Simone Rocha & J.JS. Lee at London Fashion Week

My Saturday could have been one of those moments in a movie where you are screaming at the screen “COME ON NOW!” First if you don’t know me, I tend to be lose track of time when I am getting ready in the morning. I usually press the snooze at least three times and once I am finally awake, it still takes me about 30 minutes after to start moving really fast. My morning routine takes about 45 minutes when I wake up with enough time or if needed, I can be out the door in 30. If I need to be somewhere at a certain time, I normally show up extremely early or about 3 minutes late. Today I needed to be at the Somerset House by noon for J. JS Lee’s catwalk. I woke up at 9:30 am and didn’t end up leaving until 10:30. Walking to the tube takes about 20 minutes and luckily I decided not to wear heels this time. The district line left around 11 and KEPT STOPPING. There where about 15 stops from start to finish so at 11:30 and we were at the 5th stop I started panicking! As the tube and my time crunch were getting close, the tube STOPPED at Embankment and I needed to go to Temple, so unlucky. I ran out of the station, got into a cab and said I only have five pounds and NEEDED to go to the Somerset House in five minutes or else my life is ending (ok maybe it was drastic but he got the picture). I made it in just the nick of time before the show started and even found another intern I work with to stand with, I so HAPPY at this point! Furthermore, I had no idea that J. JS Lee was collaborating with Simone Rocha so I was able to see two amazing catwalks back to back! I even saw John Rocha, Simone’s father who is a HUGE designer in the UK, I tired not to stare but seeing someone famous doesn’t happen on a normal basis. I did not recognize anyone else because I’m not familiar with UK celebs. I think it’s really interesting to see celebrities in real life because (most of them) seem really down to earth. John was rocking Dr.Martin’s and all black.

Sunday was beautiful so we decided to go out to Hyde Park and wander around. Unfortunately, we missed Speaker’s corner, but we have plans to go this weekend.
