Buon giorno a tutti. I know it has been quite sometime since my last post, so I’ll be sure to include one more here after this one before I return home. The pictures I have from this post are from Pasquetta, or simply Easter Monday. Joe’s family was in town for the week, and his dad made a huge meal for us and about twenty others in our program. We spent the whole day celebrating and eating at our apartment, and a good time was had by all. Above is a picture of just some of the food that was made that day.
A shot of a few of the guests of the day.
Here is a picture of Joe’s dad, Joe. Joe is the descendant of a Sicilian family and is an amazing cook. I got to learn first-hand how to make some classic dishes with the freshest food in the city, straight from Mercato Centrale. Needless to say, I was stuffing my face the entire day. Overall the entire day was really fun, and it was good to take our mind of off school for the day.
That’s about all I have for this post, but I promise to give you one last big one before I head back, which is now just a little over week (if there are any of you out there still following this blog). I will be sure to include lots of information and photos from all my favorite places in the city. I have just one big project for my art history class due this week, and a few finals next week, but with no school next Tuesday and good weather this weekend in the forecast, I should be able to make the most of the time I have left. That’s all for now, ciao!
