Last Saturday I moved to my new home for the next few months.

Toledo is a beautiful UNESCO World Heritage City with a history of a mix of the Jewish, Muslim and Christian cultures.

Toledo, Castilla-La Mancha is the sister city of Toledo, Ohio. The picture below shows me pointing to a street that is called Calle Toledo de Ohio or “Toledo Ohio Street.”

Many of the streets in Toledo are calles estrechas or “narrow streets.” For this reason, it is easy to get lost in Toledo if you do not know where you are going. I was grateful that I had time to practice how to get to school before my first day.

I am looking forward to my internship and learning more about the Camino de Santiago, art in Toledo and business practices in Spain.

Thanks to the generosity of my host family and friends, I had the opportunity to try caqui (a fruit), Jamón ibérico or “Iberian ham”, and marzipan (a sweet confection made with almond meal and sugar). The picture below is of the biggest Paella that I have ever seen! I love all of the new foods that I have tried so far!

No pasa nada! “Everything is going to be okay.”
