I’m sorry it’s been a while, but it’s been kind of a chaotic couple of weeks. Last week I had midterms, and spent the whole week crammed up in coffee shops studying and writing papers. (It was all worth it when I got my grades back). This last week I’ve been on spring break, and it’s been so relaxing and much needed.
My roommates are all off doing their own adventures throughout Europe, but I’m here in London making sure that I get all of the things done here that I want to do before I have to go back home. I’ve spent a lot of time in parks this week, Hyde Park to be exact. I’ve been reading a lot of books since being here, and I’ve found that the park has been a great place to sit, relax, and read a good book.
Along with that, I’ve kind of just been wandering the streets of London. There have been a couple days this week where I’ve just started walking, with no destination in mind and it’s been really cool. I’ve ended up in some neighborhoods that I hadn’t been to yet, and even went window shopping in the shopping area that has stores such as Dolce and Gabana, Saint Laurent, Gucci, and so many more. (Key words – WINDOW shopped)
But by far the best part of my week was seeing Wicked on Wednesday. My mom has always been the biggest fan of that show, and has always raved about it. I never really understood the hype until I saw it for myself on Wednesday. It’s a beautiful production that has a great message behind it. I also think it was the first real musical production that I’ve seen, and it was one that I will never forget.
I’ve read 7 books in the last 2 weeks, and all of have been for leisure. Call me a nerd if you want, but it’s been so nice and honestly has been quite a refresher for me. I’ve gone to different bookstores, and just sat and read. I’ve never really been known to be a reader necessarily, but I think that this is going to be a new destressor for me.
My family sent me a care package this week!!! It was a little belated Valentine’s Day package with some candies and a pair of tennis shoes since the ones I brought with me got a huge hole in them. (You guys rock)
Spring break is the halfway point for my trip, meaning that there’s only 7 more weeks until I’m back in Minnesota. I can’t wait to see what new adventures are to come in those upcoming weeks.
Until next time,
