Yesterday was my last day at Trendstop.com and it was one of those moments you actually can’t believe is happening. I was given the most beautiful flowers and a card… Then it all hit me. This is my last week in London, a place I’ve been calling home since January. I’m sad to see this adventure of a lifetime coming to end but so excited to see what happens next. I’m full of mixed emotions at this point. I’ve met the most wonderful people through my internship and couldn’t have [...]

Today my roommates and I went to the Getty Museum near Oxford Circus to see the new Marilyn Monroe exhibit… It was so neat! It showcased black and white photography and some of her infamous outfits! Sadly, the white dress she was known for was not there. Still, it’s worthwhile going to check it out because it is FREE! Besides, who doesn’t love the beautiful Marilyn Monroe?

As the time is getting closer to my homecoming, things are extremely hectic in London! Sorry for the lack of blogs posts lately but between finals, interning, and pre-packing there isn’t enough time in the day. Ten days from today I will be landing in Wisconsin and couldn’t be more excited to see my family and friends! It’s been the experience of a lifetime but it is time for a break. Here’s some brief updates I’ve missed this past week. Last week was jammed packed with PR events and homework [...]

First, I must say the worst thing about interning in the fashion industry is being poor and surrounded by beautiful clothing. Over the past four months, I’ve seen some of the most beautiful pieces of clothing but can’t imagine what it would be like to own it. I keep telling myself, someday it could happen but if it doesn’t a girl can look just as beautiful wearing confidence and jeans with a white t shirt. Wearing garments that retail for thousands of dollars are just a waste and there are [...]

Before visiting MiH Jeans, I went to the Future Fashion PR event at Westfield. If you read my blog, I mentioned it further back as being the most Americanized mall in london (and I love it!) The event was quick and unlike anything I’ve seen yet! It was promoting the new digital age of fashion infused with brick and mortar shopping. The concept is simple, ecommerce is taking over buying behaviors and by having interactive shopping in brick and mortars such as touch screens still allow consumers the ability to “touch [...]

MiH Jeans are my new obsession. They are chic, classic, and extremely comfortable. Today I went with our Trend Editor, Diana, to the MiH press release for the unveiling of their Fall/Winter 2012-13 Collection. The MiH office in Shephard’s Bush is beautiful with white washed walls, flowers, and has the most delicious tea and biscuits. Every employee was wearing MiH Jeans and tops looking adorable. Without knowing we were going to the MiH PR event, I decided to wear my neon yellow and blue circle tights by Emilio Cavaillini and a black dress… [...]

Mondays are my least favorite day but today was an exception. Instead of sitting literature class that is 3 and a half miserable hours long, we took a field trip to kensington gardens where Kate Middleton walks her dog and it was so adorable. We saw the Italian gardens, Peter pan statue, round pond full with swans, and a statue apparently called the muscular statue. It was one of the many few days it’s been sunny in London without clouds. I just wanted to sit in the grass and read [...]

This weekend has been full of exciting events and the weather couldn’t have been more perfect it. Spring is starting to make it’s way through the rain clouds and overcast. It’s time to ditch the wool coats and put on a light trench and flats. Pat came for the weekend and stayed until early this morning. I swear the British Border patrol are even worse than America. They ask me why I’m here, what I’m doing, where I’m interning, what school I go to, what books I read (just kidding [...]

After a full day of interning, nothing is better than discovering London’s cutest shopping area for a little retail therapy– something I strongly believe in to cure practically any bad and long day. I met my room-mate, Jordan, at Piccadilly Circus to grab drinks and something light for dinner. Monday–Thursday I barely have time to go grocery shopping because my days are jammed pack with running from school to Trendstop.com and then coming home to do homework. I wake up at 7am and get home around 7pm, on my good days. As you all know, full days [...]

In honor of pancake day in the UK, the Trendstop.com team of interns and I decided to celebrate the next best way with an original American meal at Ed’s. To get there, hop off at Bond st. and then take a left. Then walk pasts boots and take another left down the alley and you will see Ed’s at the very end on your right! It’s super yummy and has milkshakes, fries, burgers, and anything American you can imagine. A word of advice would be to wait about 30 minutes [...]

My Saturday could have been one of those moments in a movie where you are screaming at the screen “COME ON NOW!” First if you don’t know me, I tend to be lose track of time when I am getting ready in the morning. I usually press the snooze at least three times and once I am finally awake, it still takes me about 30 minutes after to start moving really fast. My morning routine takes about 45 minutes when I wake up with enough time or if needed, I [...]

London Fashion Week has been the most amazing experience ever. It was a normal day in trendstop.com and one moment I went from tagging colors from the NFW catwalk to sitting in front of Jena Theo’s LFW show! I am so excited for the days to come and will keep you posted! Below are photos from the Jena Theo Catwalk. It was a fairly small and short show but the shoes were to die for! All of the models wore black wedges with a floral-like design on them.

This past weekend, I went with a group of 50 CAPA students to Paris! It was a dream come true, literally. When I was in middle school, my groups of friends I would obsess over the Eiffel tower and beautiful cities like Paris. Basically, any city that was not in boring old Wisconsin. It was surreal getting off the metro and walking onto the streets of Paris. Everything is made out of a white stone that makes the city look ageless and you can just feel the Parisian Atmosphere. As [...]

I woke this morning with the sun shining and had a feeling it was going to be a good day.. I was right! Normally, Wednesday’s are my “hump day” meaning it usually a very long day but once it is over I know the rest of the week and weekend will be less stressful. Today was anything but a hump day and I couldn’t be more excited about all the exciting things happening this month! For my internship, I was assigned to contacted the press of the fabulous designers of London [...]
